Teachers day – September 5, 2022
The day began with a one-of-a-kind assembly, as the students of grades 10 and 11 set the tone for the day.
The first special element was the symbolic handing over of a green pen to the Student President by our CEO and our Principal, a red one, to the Cultural Secretary. The young leaders were the CEO and Principal for the day. The second surprise was a beautiful message given by none other than our CEO himself.
Following the assembly, Grade 11 was engaged with Grades 5-7, and the bookmarks made by the students were given out to the teachers. The most awaited part of the day and the one we’ve all been looking forward to- it was time for some entertainment and games. Teachers gathered to witness a skit –‘Metamorphosis’- put up by Grade 11. We could see how much our teachers enjoyed the moments as we enacted familiar scenes from classrooms, along with a few bittersweet ones that remind us of just how important a teacher is in every stage of one’s life. This was followed by a special song, a Tamil recitation and a peppy dance.
Not to forget the exciting the part of the day- the treasure hunt and passing the parcel. We were anticipating our teachers ponder over the tough clues that had been assigned to them- but much to our surprise, they had successfully completed the hunt within fifteen minutes! The fun doesn’t end there! Teachers actively passed around a bean bag while music was played, and whoever held the bean bag when the music stopped, had to perform a dare. The dares were tough — but our teachers were tougher! It was a wonderful sight to see as each of them performed with great spirit and enthusiasm.
As the day came to an end, when the winners had their medals, and everyone had gathered around the quadrangle, you couldn’t have told who was happier: the teachers, or the students. The teachers because they had a good time; and the students, because it was only on this one day we could see our teachers let go and have fun. It was indeed a day where we celebrated them exclusively — and it was an opportunity to thank them for everything that they selflessly do for us, every single day. We are extremely grateful for their presence in our lives, and we are so thankful that we got the opportunity to express that.
